We had gathered for drinks at a local watering home for the first occasion of a new tradition — a holiday reunion of old newshounds, all alums of The Maryville Daily Times. Some of my former coworkers are still in the trenches, fighting the good fight, helping create the finest local and national news coverage. Many of us had left the field after long careers, seeking new opportunities and challenges.
