Public Relations Specialist

About You

Our ideal Public Relations Specialist is a goal-oriented client cheerleader, willing to pick up the phone and tell our clients’ stories to national media, fearlessly pitching and developing new story angles. We’re looking for someone with these characteristics:

  • 5+ years of related experience; agency experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing or a related field
  • Experience with B2B, franchise, construction, environmental organizations, animal welfare or plant-based products is a plus
  • Confident and outgoing with dynamic verbal presence
  • Proven PR expertise, winning earned media placements with attention-grabbing pitches
  • First-class client relations skills and a track record of proactive client service
  • Works well as part of a team and independently, a self-starter, collaborative
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
  • Excellent time-management and multitasking ability
  • Proficient in PC, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, WordPress, content management systems

As a Public Relations Specialist, you must be able to:

  • Develop, plan and execute public relations tactics for assigned clients
  • Write press releases with excellent grammar and AP Style
  • Pitch client stories and press releases via telephone and email to all levels of media
  • Participate in assigned client meetings; create agendas and meeting minutes
  • Collaborate and brainstorm with other members of the agency team
  • Maintain records and generate reports as assigned
  • Coordinate, arrange and participate in client events, meetings and other activities as needed
  • Stay up to date on emerging industry trends
