Public Relations Coordinator

About You

Our ideal Public Relations Coordinator is a goal-oriented client cheerleader, willing to pick up the phone and tell our clients’ stories to national media, fearlessly pitching and developing new story angles. We’re looking for someone with these characteristics:

  • 1-3 years of related experience, including internships; agency experience a plus
  • Able to provide a portfolio of top-notch writing samples
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, marketing or a related field
  • Confident and outgoing with professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates a passion for journalism, news and media
  • Energetic and inquisitive, willing to learn and grow with us
  • Committed to first-class, proactive client service
  • Impeccable attention to detail, producing polished materials every time
  • Works well as part of a team and independently, a self-starter, collaborative
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
  • Excellent time-management and multi-tasking ability, able to switch gears easily
  • Proficient in PC, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, WordPress, content management systems

As a Public Relations Coordinator, you must be able to:

  • Proactively identify media opportunities and develop compelling pitches
  • Write press releases and prepare information for the media with excellent grammar and AP Style
  • Update media lists and monitor editorial calendars
  • Pitch client stories and press releases via telephone and email to all levels of media
  • Provide essential administrative support for client teams
  • Collaborate and brainstorm with other members of the agency team
  • Maintain records and generate reports as assigned
  • Coordinate, arrange and participate in client events, meetings and other activities as needed
