PR and Digital Content Writer

About You

Our ideal PR and Digital Content Writer is an excellent writer and storyteller, a goal-oriented client cheerleader, willing to pick up the phone and interview clients in order to create new and interesting story angles. We’re looking for someone with these characteristics:

  • 5+ years of related experience; print journalism and agency experience is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, journalism, marketing or a related field
  • Experience writing about B2B, franchise, construction, environmental organizations, animal welfare or plant-based products is a plus
  • Confident and outgoing with dynamic verbal presence
  • Proven PR and journalism expertise, writing quality content and attention-grabbing pitches
  • Experience with social media marketing and some experience managing Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube accounts, as well as awareness of emerging platforms
  • First-class client relations skills and a track record of proactive client service
  • Works well as part of a team and independently, a self-starter, collaborative
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, goal-oriented environment
  • Excellent time-management and multitasking ability
  • Proficient in PC, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, WordPress, content management systems

As a PR Content Writer, Programs Specialist, you must be able to:

  • Write press releases with excellent grammar and AP Style
  • Participate in assigned client meetings; create agendas and meeting minutes
  • Maintain records and generate reports as assigned
  • Develop, plan and execute public relations tactics for assigned clients
  • Pitch client stories and press releases via telephone and email to all levels of media
  • Researching, identifying and nominating our clients for national prestigious awards
  • Use customer research, insights and data to create client and agency monthly social media calendars for multiple clients in various industries
  • Work closely with brand managers, media relations and content teams to determine key strategies for social media engagement and best practices to drive engagement
  • Incorporate social media marketing into overall marketing planning for client and company presence at trade show, conferences and other related events
  • Collaborate and brainstorm with other members of the agency team
  • Coordinate, arrange and participate in client events, meetings and other activities as needed
  • Stay up to date on emerging industry trends
