Public Relations and Media Trends to Be Aware of in 2017

As we approach the end of 2016, many companies are beginning to budget and plan for the upcoming year. We will see the ongoing evolution of many B2B public relations and media trends and some new concepts become mainstream in 2017.

Here is a list of the top three PR Trends to look for in the coming year:

Live Stream Video – The most popular trend we are seeing going into 2017 is live video stream content. Periscope, YouNow and Facebook Live are just a few of the apps that have come out within the last year and allow brands to go live from any device.

Content Marketing – Content marketing is content designed to inform your customers about your products or services. It’s different than sales or advertising materials, but is still crucial to generating leads and closing sales. Content marketing can include social media posts, articles and blogs on your website, white papers, newsletters, case studies, and much more. It’s important because instead of making a pitch, content marketing materials help potential clients make an informed decision about your products or services.

Visual and Interactive Content- In 2017 we will see more companies taking steps to infiltrate the “real world” with highly engaging and interactive content.  Apart from text and images interactive content includes games, animation, GIFs, videos, quizzes, polls, interactive infographics, interactive white papers, etc. Interactive content easily lures the viewing into taking a call-to-action.

While there are other possible trends to appear this year, this list of three gives a good glimpse into what is next in terms of advancements in the PR world.
